Hello everybody!!! How are you? ?This is the last post to the English class  and is about a memorable concert  or important exhibition that I did  in this year. To be honest,  this year I didn´t go to a concert and maybe the exhibition are a bit boring for you   because are only about archaeology .
And I´m angry with me  and the world and all the world   because I don´t   see  Manu Chao the last week  : (   . I hope see Manu Chao soon or  in other opportunity >:(

My last memorable concert was the last year, but  I don’t remember the name of this concert, the date or the price. This concert was in November  in Teatro Caupolicán and  was about a new album called “Ahora”of the singer Pedro Aznar, a Argentinean singer.

The concert was great!!great!!  Went a lot of people, I went with friends and  he sang a lot and was beautiful J. I remember that I went to this concert with two friends, her names are Camila and Carolina and  Carolina is a good friend because she don´t like Pedro Aznar a lot, but went with us too.
I think that concert was special to me because I was a lot of time without going to a concert or any activity,  was as a gift from my friends for my birthday and I was listening a singer that I like a lot.

Here,  you have a link with songs of Pedro Aznar. I hope you like.

Good luck guys.
Regards.

Hello !

Today we did activities for practice for our final test and for this reason go to the next link http://www.examenglish.com  .

The first part was a test about  reading and writing   and we have activities as read short and large texts, true/false questions and choose the best alternative for one text.  Then when we finished  we did the second part about  a listening item with exercises as multiple choice, true/false and complete notes.

I think that I had a better result in the writing and reading test, but the difficult  was in “sentences transformation”  and the long text. In the second part about listening I have a regular result, but I have a lot of problems with the listening ever. The most difficult for me was complete notes L

I don´t had good results  and I need more practice and sleep.

Hello  guys!

Today  we  have free topic! And I´m going to refer about the last movie that I watched.

To be honest I like watch movies and documentary always when I have some of free  time or I need a relax. This week I have a little time and decided to see a movie called Pi.

I remember that I watched this film when I was a child , but today I have maybe other perspective or I have more years   jaja.

Pi  (El orden del caos) is a film from EEUU (1998) in genre thriller  and science fiction and who director is Darren Aronosfky (the same of Requiem for a dream and The Black Swan).

The film is about man called  Maximilian Cohen, he is  a rather paranoid, has a lot of migraines and he believed that all of nature can be represented by numbers secretive mathematician . For this reason he tries to discover the mathematical model of the bag through own calculations and feeding programs.

Later he learned about the “cabala” with a group of  judios, he created a program and did predictions discovering a number  with two hundred and sixteen digits. He think in a mistake, but a teacher say that he had  also suffered the same mistake.

In this moment he was pursued for different groups  that saw his predictions because the number is the true name of God.
I don´t know how I watched the film when I was more little, but  I think that the movie is very interesting, is   all in black and white  (I like a lot : )) and  has good music.

Here the trailer. Bye!!

Hello!!!

Today I´m going to talk about a TVshow that I enjoyed when I was a child and I choosed a program for kids called Hey Arnold or Oye Arnold!!!

I started watching it as a child maybe from 8 or 10 years old, to be honest I don´t remember. I think that I started watching it because I saw a chapter and I love it!!!.

Is a show in TV in a channel called Nickelodeon and later  I saw this program in Mega(a national channel)
Hey Arnold is a TVserie where their principal character is called Arnold. The program is about the life of Arnold and the life of his friends, their live differents adventures and confront different situations as any kid.

Arnold is a boy of nine years, have a head with a particular form, he has a football head!! .He lives with his parents in a hostel or “casa de huespedes” with many people. His grandmother is a bit crazy and his grandfather is crazy too jajaja, but a bit more rational.

The Arnold´s best friend is Gerald a black boy with a lot of hair (similar to the March´s SImpson)  and is a boy rational for his age. And other interesting character is Helga (yes, we have the same name xD).
Helga is friend and classmate of Arnold. Helga is a girl a bit crazy, she is as  rude girl, don´t have a interesting in the class and she only dedicate to disturb to Arnold.

But, really she is fall in love of Arnold!! But she don´t demonstrate her feelings. She  is an intelligent girl and she like do poems and sculpture to Arnold.
I think that I liked the program because was good an you can see different chapter in a little time. But the principal reason is because  I liked Helga a lot. J

Do you see Hey Arnold??what is your favourite character??

Regards!

Hello everybody

Today I`m writing about my life and I think that as for anyone is full of good and bad things.  To be honest I don´t like to talk  about my personal life,  but I tell you some things.

Some people say that I and my family have some “”bad luck “” because we have been through many situations that did not go so well and others sad and hard.  Years ago my father died and we have many complex economic and social situation, the last year I had many problems and  I fall behind at the University.

In some occasions I´m a bit negative, but in  my life have happened  a lot of good things. I consider that I have good friends in the south and here in Santiago, I have a beautiful nephew  and I knew many people in the university and other spaces  with which I can work and  make a better society .

I don´t like to talk about “achivements” maybe I can consider some things important but I don´t like this word. This year an  important thing was that I can understand some things about my life and  maybe some of learning.

I wish you had  never to  say  “I didn`t or why I didn´t”.  And I think this year I would like to went to the nort of Chile, to Ayquina, done more stupid things , went to my house in the south more times  and  work in the career as when I was in second year jaja.

The rest of the year I would  dance more,  work and laugh and enjoy more,  really enjoy . This summer maybe I will start with the search of the materials to my practice, I would like to do a journey and do many things : )

And you ....what do  you like to do?

Regards!

Hello people!!!

Today we are writing about who is the greatest Chilean of all time and to be honest I don´t know. But, I would like to refer about an important chilean that I like.

His name is Clotario Blest Riffo. Clotario born in Santiago, was an important syndical leader and social activist from 1920.

He started in 1920 working in a group called El Surco and after was working  in “La Casa del Pueblo”, this groups promove the syndical organization. But the second with a Christian component and  later, he found “Germen”, an important  group about working classes without political party or politicals.

He participated founded different organizations, for example ANEF, CUT and MIR or other refuges for people with political problems.

In 1922 he started to work as a public worker and founded ADIP.  ADIP was a deportive association of different institutions, but was a mask of groups with workman and syndical classes.

With this group born later “ANEF”, the actual entity of public workers  and with a focus in know more about rights and topics economics, politicals and cultural.

But the principal was “CUT”  and their critical about economical politics. He participated in a lot of strikes and movilizations that critical the situation of the country.

I think this person is important because did a lot of things and I admire a lot. I like his work and the form of this.

If Mr.Clota was in this place I think that I asked him a lot of things, a lot!!!!.

Hello! Today I`m going to talk about pets.

My house was always filled with pets, with dogs, cats and hamsters. But to be honest, In my life I have had only one  pet that I consider mine(and my family) and  the rest are from my little sister.

The name of this pet is Maximus like Maximus Decimus Meridius (the gladiator)  and is a dog, specifically a german shepherd. But, we say Max or Maxi because is more short. We got him from the year 2000, when a guy from a hatchery talk with one of my sister and gave us one. He arrived a rainy day from June with some months , maybe 4 or 5.

Something interesting is that I have panic with the dogs. Yes!! I have a fear of dogs, but with Max was different. I think  Max was a person more in my house, he saw your eyes and he understood what are you saying.

Is a bit difficult say what do now because he died 3 months ago. But in the past Max has social skills with us and others animals, even with cats. He liked play ball, cats scare, eat a lot of food, was very intelligent and the last months he spends a lot of time sleeping because was old.
For this reason we take care a lot about him, we brush his hair a lot, did food more soft and changed his bedding.

And this is all about my pet.

Regards !!
Hello everybody!

I think that I´m not a green person or eco-friendly than the average Chilean person and I´m far from being one.

To be honest I try to incorporated some “green” habits, for example I walk to the University and other near places, I use again bottles and cartons, I use less water when I bathe and wash plates and clothes and reuse and recycle some things. But nothing more, For example I don´t use bike because I don´t have one, I don´t have my own bags for to go to the supermarket  and I use detergent and shampoo that pollutes the water.

I think that the idea of being a green person is difficult and relative, when we are in country with a economical system based on the resource exploitation of their natural resources and in a system that invites you to buy and destroy all around you.

For the same reason is difficult to the people learn about environmentally friendly practices or for a  topic cultural too, the Chileans don´t have education in this topic and either culturally.

Today the people learn about this topic in some ecological groups, in some college, eco-organizations and maybe in home, but are far from other countries. In my case, I never participed in any eco-organization, maybe for lack of desire or this is not me.

But, I believe that is not enough with only recycling bins or biking or some NGO or groups, we need change this topic in a cultural level, need to include this topic in the people and their education (And change the system !!).

Regards!

Hi everyone!

To be honest I consider that I have few close friends, but now I´m going to talk about  a good friend .

The name of my friend is Carolina and all the people calls her Caro, she is from Santiago and she is studying archaeology. (She is my classmate)

I met her the first year at the  University (2010)  when started Anthropology  and I believe maybe never talk the first or second year ajajjaa. But  we makes good friends later, like in 2012(?) when we started archaeologist.

I remember that we started to talk more because we were part of the same group  for to do a presentation  for a boring subject and then we continue work in others subjects. Later I met her parents, her cat called Martin, secrets, friends, problems and a lot of things about her life. And she know the same about me.

I can see to Carolina  everyday because are classmates, but  I see in some times even the weeks or in vacations J.

I think that we are very different, for example she loves the cats and I hate them ! She likes to study the herbage and I like the animals and humans.  But I consider and respect our different points of view or opinions and have some points in common, for example we both  like to dance, travel, some kinds of music and talk.
I feel happy because Carolina is a great support to me in this city. Specially the last year, because was an horrible and complicated year, even when I hated stay in Stgo.

Thanks for read my post and I see you!

Good luck!

PS: This picture is when we visited "Lago Chungará" the last year in October.

Hello everybody!!

The last week we celebrated the national holiday and many people felt more Chilean than ever before. To be honest I don´t like national holiday because we just commemorate a dominate class and for me was only an opportunity to travel to my house in the south.

Today we are writing about what make Chilean and elements of the Chilean culture.
To me its a bit difficult to say what makes Chilean , what define the Chilean culture or what is so typical of Chile, because the national identity is a construction of a community  based in a sentiments of belonging with many  characteristic, customs, social interaction and with many contributions by different groups and cultures.

Many people can say  that we can find many customs deeply, for example the cueca, drinks, music even differents symbols and  material culture or elements. I consider maybe others elements important in this construction as a subordinate condition, domination relations and even I see a  vision negative and mediocre about our society.

But in relation with the last question about elements of our culture should be celebrated, I would like to celebrate others elements and others discourse that are refused or ignore in our country .Not this national identity  from a state and not this time were just celebrate and legitimize  a dominant class.

Thanks for visit my blog, see you and good luck!

Welcome to my blog!! Today we are starting a new semester :( and this is the first post (the other post before this is the secondly, but I started the subject more later )

The last semester was horrible,  we have a lot of evaluations in little time but was a great semester of movilizations and work.

I think that the first semester was great for me!!
First, because I had subjects interesting for me, in terms of learning the semester was good, I knew a lot of bones, I learned to excavate  and I had  South`s prehistory.  But we have problems with practical subjects, we had shorts hours to work.

To be honest I did  other activities that I like, for example: work with bones and practice dance. for relaxing and I did complied many goals.

This semester I have six subjects: Prehistory IV or "extremo sur", antropología IV or "materialism", Teory II, Bioarchaeology, Cuantitative archaeology and english 4 plus to three assistantships. Sinceratily these days I m not studying yet but I will start soon.

For this semester I have a lot of expectations, but the most important maybe is pass the differents subjects with a good mark, be a good assistant and do activities that I like. And  I hope that I can go to a excavate for some days :)

Thanks for visit my blog, see you!

Welcome to my blog! Today I´m going to talk about a beach that I like.

To be honest I don´t like the beach, specially in summer because has a lot of people and I    don ´t like the sun and suffer from heat. But, I need talking about a beach and  for this reason I ´m going to refer a beach that I like.

This beach is located in  Tirúa, a village in Arauco, Eigth region of Bio Bio in the south of Chile. Is a bit complicated go to this place because many people don´t know Tirúa and is a quiet place, specially post earthquake.

I knew this place one week before the big earthquake in 2010 and after in 2011  I was working and living  in Quidico (a place near to Tirúa, 20 minutes) for three months in the summer.
In 2011 I visited Tirúa many times, but now I go when I can travel....living in Santiago is difficult go to this place even go to my house in Los Angeles :(

When I go to this place I prefer see the sea and clouds, is relaxing!  Sometimes I eat something or I go to the different activities , for example: bonfire, local festival.

I think that I like this beach because don´t go many people to Tirúa in the year, even in summer. Besides,  you can go at any time, is very quiet, has a beautiful view and the water is cold (I like the cold water :) )

See you!

Hello people from the internet!!

Today we have the last post of the semester! And  I´m going to write  about the experience using blogs.
Well, this is my first time doing a blog in English, in the past I did blogs for jobs or the school but never in other language! We do this activity in the english class at University with the idea that exercise my writing expression and develop different skills doing 10 posts of different topics.

I  think this activity is interesting for the students, because is different to the others activities from the others levels of the course and more relaxed; this is very useful to learn english, specially for the students with more difficulties (like me ajaja). Is difficult when we write without traductor and about a specifically topic :C.

The blog is practical for the development of writing skills. In my opinion, my kills in this area and of my classmates are a more better, but we need more practice and vocabulary.

I believe that is necessary include different tools depending of the levels of the course for to do more interactive and see a continuity and growth in this subject.  In relationship with the matter dealt, I think the blog could include others topics, for example about movies, books, maybe animals? , colors? or others.

Regards! : ) and good luck with theFinal test and the semester!

See you in level IV.
Hi! Today we have a new topic and  I`m going to talk about my favourite subject in this semester.

I like a subject called  Zooarchaeology, this is a subject  in the line of Metodologies and technical of laboratory in Archaeology realized in the four semester(the first is ceramic, the second lithic, then we have this subject and the last is bioarchaeology).

The Zooarchaeology study in simples terms the relation human-animal in differents areas and aspects. In class we have two big parts, we have teoretical class every thursdays in the morning and practical class tuesdays and others days.

In the first we see differents topics about Zooarchaeology, for example domestication, poblation, uses, social and ritual uses and others . And in the second part we have class with different animals bones! we see for example birds, "llamas", mouses and others. and learn the bones, types of analysis, graphs  and reports.

I consider that I like this subject because I would like to work in this line and  is interesting for me know different problems to investigate. And I like a lot work with bones (humans or of animals) C:

See you! And good luck with the semester!

Hello everybody!! Welcome to the best blog in the web (?).

Today I can talk about any topic, I don´t know what write, my ideas are ending jajajj and I don´t have many time in this moment because I´m traveling in a bus.

But listening music I found an audio about a story called The nameless monster (El monstruo sin nombre u Obluda, kierá nemá své jméno in czech). This story appear in a  manga called Monster, specifically in the Volume 17: “The devil in your eyes” (“El demonio ante tus ojos”) from Naoki Urasawa.

In the serie and manga this story was wrote by Emile Scherbe, known as Franz Bonaparta, a fictional writer. The stories are important because are used to implement brainwashing to infants, who went to reading sessions.
This story is about a monster wanted a name and decided to leave home in search of one, but the world is big, and then he divided  into two parts. The monster eats people for to have a name, but every time he returned to being a nameless monster…

But one day until it finds a name….and for to know the rest of the story you can see the video. Also I recommended the manga and serie, is great!

Hello everybody! Today I´m going to refer about a picture and I chose. This image is known as “Miliciana de Waswalito”.

To start, this picture was taken by Orlando Valenzuela, a man from Rivas. He started to take pictures in 1980 and this picture was taken in July 1984 in Waswalito, a little rural community in Nicaragua. In this time Orlando was a photographer and editor in a magazine called “Los Muchachos”, this publication is conducted by a group called “Juventud Sandinista 19 de julio”.
This image shows a young countrywoman smiling. She is holding her child and has her rifle on her shoulder. But, what does it mean? The photographer says that he took this picture because he saw a combination of tenderness in this woman with the little boy and the force in the defense, in the rifle and Valenzuela or the editor put the name.

In the same year the image was taken as the official image of “Campaña Mundial de Solidaridad con Nicaragua.” Giving an important amount of money for the country, but this woman didn´t receive any money.
I think that I chose this image for three reasons: First, because I enjoy black and white a lot!, second because a friend gave me this picture for my birthday and the last point is because I like the meaning of this picture. I like to see this woman with a big smile and the little boy, regardless of the context.

Thanks for visiting

Hello everybody!

Today we need a neww topic called: my favourite piece of technology.
To be honest I don´t know much about technology and I have few piece technological; but I `m going to speak about my cell phone because I use it every day.

I received my cell phone 2 years ago, when  I got mugged on the subway (is sad because my other cell phone was almost new  and was a give from my family : ( ) and for this fact, my sister gave me another.

Talking about its use, I use it frequently, every day! Because the cell phone allows to : call (specially to my family and friends in the south), send messages and I use a lot the alarm to get up in the morning , the problem is that it almost never hear it >:(

I think that I like because is a piece necessary in everyday life  and allows me to comunicate with my family. All people today have a cell phone or smartphone! and really never thought  about what life would be like without  it, but I consider that would be interesting to see that people without cell phone.

Here´s a picture!

The word tinku means “meeting” in quechua and fight in aymara, come from Bolivia and Peru ( also is practicing in Chile) and represent a popular ritual prehispanic .
The ritual is about two groups fighting offering blood to the earth, this is good for have a good harvest. This ritual is part of their cosmology and practices.

What do the people?

The people start playing a music called Jula Jula, move many flags of different color and dance. Then when find the other group repeat that. Later, groups are fighting for hours.
Others points important: people drink a lot! A typical drink is one called chichi. For this point, sometimes people fight very much and somebody can die.

Today I `m going to talk  about a person that "admire".

To be honest I don`t have a favorite expert  and I think it is a bit difficult say that admire someone, but  I`m going to write  about a person that I like much as expert.

Her name is Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui, born 1949  in La Paz, Bolivia and she is descendent aymara. Is a sociologist and historian, was teaching in many universities  and work at the Universidad de San Andrés(Bol) for more than 2 decades.

She is recognize for  a sociology activism,  she works direclty with indigenous movement  such as coca growers, Katarista movement and  other indigenous and populars movements. Other point interesting in her work is  a subaltern theory , she continues a anarchist theory and aymara and quechua cosmologies. Along with others professionals founded "Taller de historia oral andina" and works topics about identity, cosmologies, social movements and orality.

I like because has an interesting vision, experience and theory about how think the indigenous, she works directly with the people and consider differents speeches.

Writing about music

Hi everybody!

Today I ´m going  to talk  about music. Maybe is not my favorite band, but I know this group in the south of Chile, and for me this is important. When I  heard I liked immediately.
This group is called Los tres, born in 1987 in Concepción,  is a recognized chilean band and one of the more important in Latinoamerica. They play rock! but  have some of jazz in their compositions.

Why I like? I think this is because in my house one of my sisters listen rock and other types of music that I like. For example  I remember that she used "cassette"and  I love it!

About my favourite song, I like very much  one called "Bolsa de mareo" and  about why I like , this is because I like the sounds and music.  Last year I listened this song many times,  reflexes how  I felt this  time.

I see this group in Conce, I remember that was in June because was raining very much! and was cold, but I not remember the date. Was in the "plato" of the "Universidad de Concepción", but was in a  "tokata"  for charity and I like because I went with friends .About this activity I don ´t remember  a video in some page or  in youtube.

Here`s a  link! Enjoy!

This other  video is about a concert called "33 horas bar", this is a work of music and dance made by Los Tres and the Ballet of Santiago.  The video is about the first presentation in May , 2008 in the Teatro Municipal de Santiago and this song is called "Pájaros de fuego"

My autobiography

Thursday, April 11 , 2013
Welcome!

My name is Helga Belén Inostroza Rojas, I’m 21 years-old and I moved to Santiago 3 years ago when I started college. But originally I am from Los Angeles, Chile. This city is in the south of the country, in the eighth region. And it is the place where I was born on November 29, 1991.

About my family I can say that we are a six-member family: my parents, my three sisters and me. Two of my three sisters are older than me, the first one is 38 years-old and the second one is 35 years-old. My other sister is 17 years-old and she is the youngest.
About my studies, I was 9 years in a public school (kindergarten to 8th grade), then I was in a subsidized private school in my secondary education. And now I am a 4th year student of anthropology at University Of Chile with a major in archaeology. Besides that I work sporadically.

To tell a little about my likes I can say that I really like to dance. I took a folklore dance class in 2011 and since the last year I’m a part of a collective of Andean dancing and I’m taking lessons of Choreography and contemporary dance. I also did ballet for nine years, but I left it because of a problem in my left knee. I like to watch movies and documentaries and listen to music too.

The last things that I would like to share with you guys are that now I am doing textile analysis and learning zooarchaeology and bioarchaeology.

I hope that enjoy my blog!
Regards
