Hello everybody!!

The last week we celebrated the national holiday and many people felt more Chilean than ever before. To be honest I don´t like national holiday because we just commemorate a dominate class and for me was only an opportunity to travel to my house in the south.

Today we are writing about what make Chilean and elements of the Chilean culture.
To me its a bit difficult to say what makes Chilean , what define the Chilean culture or what is so typical of Chile, because the national identity is a construction of a community  based in a sentiments of belonging with many  characteristic, customs, social interaction and with many contributions by different groups and cultures.

Many people can say  that we can find many customs deeply, for example the cueca, drinks, music even differents symbols and  material culture or elements. I consider maybe others elements important in this construction as a subordinate condition, domination relations and even I see a  vision negative and mediocre about our society.

But in relation with the last question about elements of our culture should be celebrated, I would like to celebrate others elements and others discourse that are refused or ignore in our country .Not this national identity  from a state and not this time were just celebrate and legitimize  a dominant class.

Thanks for visit my blog, see you and good luck!

Welcome to my blog!! Today we are starting a new semester :( and this is the first post (the other post before this is the secondly, but I started the subject more later )

The last semester was horrible,  we have a lot of evaluations in little time but was a great semester of movilizations and work.

I think that the first semester was great for me!!
First, because I had subjects interesting for me, in terms of learning the semester was good, I knew a lot of bones, I learned to excavate  and I had  South`s prehistory.  But we have problems with practical subjects, we had shorts hours to work.

To be honest I did  other activities that I like, for example: work with bones and practice dance. for relaxing and I did complied many goals.

This semester I have six subjects: Prehistory IV or "extremo sur", antropología IV or "materialism", Teory II, Bioarchaeology, Cuantitative archaeology and english 4 plus to three assistantships. Sinceratily these days I m not studying yet but I will start soon.

For this semester I have a lot of expectations, but the most important maybe is pass the differents subjects with a good mark, be a good assistant and do activities that I like. And  I hope that I can go to a excavate for some days :)

Thanks for visit my blog, see you!

Welcome to my blog! Today I´m going to talk about a beach that I like.

To be honest I don´t like the beach, specially in summer because has a lot of people and I    don ´t like the sun and suffer from heat. But, I need talking about a beach and  for this reason I ´m going to refer a beach that I like.

This beach is located in  Tirúa, a village in Arauco, Eigth region of Bio Bio in the south of Chile. Is a bit complicated go to this place because many people don´t know Tirúa and is a quiet place, specially post earthquake.

I knew this place one week before the big earthquake in 2010 and after in 2011  I was working and living  in Quidico (a place near to Tirúa, 20 minutes) for three months in the summer.
In 2011 I visited Tirúa many times, but now I go when I can travel....living in Santiago is difficult go to this place even go to my house in Los Angeles :(

When I go to this place I prefer see the sea and clouds, is relaxing!  Sometimes I eat something or I go to the different activities , for example: bonfire, local festival.

I think that I like this beach because don´t go many people to Tirúa in the year, even in summer. Besides,  you can go at any time, is very quiet, has a beautiful view and the water is cold (I like the cold water :) )

See you!

Hello people from the internet!!

Today we have the last post of the semester! And  I´m going to write  about the experience using blogs.
Well, this is my first time doing a blog in English, in the past I did blogs for jobs or the school but never in other language! We do this activity in the english class at University with the idea that exercise my writing expression and develop different skills doing 10 posts of different topics.

I  think this activity is interesting for the students, because is different to the others activities from the others levels of the course and more relaxed; this is very useful to learn english, specially for the students with more difficulties (like me ajaja). Is difficult when we write without traductor and about a specifically topic :C.

The blog is practical for the development of writing skills. In my opinion, my kills in this area and of my classmates are a more better, but we need more practice and vocabulary.

I believe that is necessary include different tools depending of the levels of the course for to do more interactive and see a continuity and growth in this subject.  In relationship with the matter dealt, I think the blog could include others topics, for example about movies, books, maybe animals? , colors? or others.

Regards! : ) and good luck with theFinal test and the semester!

See you in level IV.
Hi! Today we have a new topic and  I`m going to talk about my favourite subject in this semester.

I like a subject called  Zooarchaeology, this is a subject  in the line of Metodologies and technical of laboratory in Archaeology realized in the four semester(the first is ceramic, the second lithic, then we have this subject and the last is bioarchaeology).

The Zooarchaeology study in simples terms the relation human-animal in differents areas and aspects. In class we have two big parts, we have teoretical class every thursdays in the morning and practical class tuesdays and others days.

In the first we see differents topics about Zooarchaeology, for example domestication, poblation, uses, social and ritual uses and others . And in the second part we have class with different animals bones! we see for example birds, "llamas", mouses and others. and learn the bones, types of analysis, graphs  and reports.

I consider that I like this subject because I would like to work in this line and  is interesting for me know different problems to investigate. And I like a lot work with bones (humans or of animals) C:

See you! And good luck with the semester!

Hello everybody!! Welcome to the best blog in the web (?).

Today I can talk about any topic, I don´t know what write, my ideas are ending jajajj and I don´t have many time in this moment because I´m traveling in a bus.

But listening music I found an audio about a story called The nameless monster (El monstruo sin nombre u Obluda, kierá nemá své jméno in czech). This story appear in a  manga called Monster, specifically in the Volume 17: “The devil in your eyes” (“El demonio ante tus ojos”) from Naoki Urasawa.

In the serie and manga this story was wrote by Emile Scherbe, known as Franz Bonaparta, a fictional writer. The stories are important because are used to implement brainwashing to infants, who went to reading sessions.
This story is about a monster wanted a name and decided to leave home in search of one, but the world is big, and then he divided  into two parts. The monster eats people for to have a name, but every time he returned to being a nameless monster…

But one day until it finds a name….and for to know the rest of the story you can see the video. Also I recommended the manga and serie, is great!

Regards!

Hello everybody! Today I´m going to refer about a picture and I chose. This image is known as “Miliciana de Waswalito”.

To start, this picture was taken by Orlando Valenzuela, a man from Rivas. He started to take pictures in 1980 and this picture was taken in July 1984 in Waswalito, a little rural community in Nicaragua. In this time Orlando was a photographer and editor in a magazine called “Los Muchachos”, this publication is conducted by a group called “Juventud Sandinista 19 de julio”.
This image shows a young countrywoman smiling. She is holding her child and has her rifle on her shoulder. But, what does it mean? The photographer says that he took this picture because he saw a combination of tenderness in this woman with the little boy and the force in the defense, in the rifle and Valenzuela or the editor put the name.

In the same year the image was taken as the official image of “Campaña Mundial de Solidaridad con Nicaragua.” Giving an important amount of money for the country, but this woman didn´t receive any money.
I think that I chose this image for three reasons: First, because I enjoy black and white a lot!, second because a friend gave me this picture for my birthday and the last point is because I like the meaning of this picture. I like to see this woman with a big smile and the little boy, regardless of the context.
